When choosing clothes, I have always been a bit of an impulse shopper, buying random garments just because I like them, regardless of when I would wear them or with what. I have also bought clothes that I have seen look good on other people not really considering whether they would suit my shape. Like most women, I would often stare blankly at a wardrobe full of clothes and scream that I had ‘nothing to wear’.
I jumped at the chance to have my wardrobe detoxed by Emma Shoe’s styling service…I realised it was time to change my shopping and hoarding habits and found the whole experience fun, cathartic and informative.
Emma’s methodical and thorough approach immediately gave me a much clearer idea of the style I liked and the clothes that I already had that I could use to achieve this. She gave me ideas of how to combine my existing clothes with each other and gave me a clear guideline of what key accessories I needed that could then be used to style up many other outfits. She showed me that within a few easy steps, I could put together an outfit and complete a look with ease… something I have never done before!
More than anything, I was amazed at the end of the process just how many of my clothes I could wear again by simply teaming them with the right key piece. I was thrilled how much money this would save me in not needing to go out and buy more clothes for something to wear but with just wearing a nice belt or a fab bag meant I could create many different looks at very little extra expense.
I learnt a lot in the few hours with Emma about what suited my shape, how I could quickly adapt an outfit and what key pieces to bear in mind when I next went shopping. The whole experience was amazing, so much good advice, good ideas and handy tips but more than anything it was great fun.....
Emma breathed inspiration back into my wardrobe and life into some items of clothes that I had long turned my back on. I feel like I have a new set of clothes to wear and a new pair of eyes to go shopping with! (In the form of the Look Book).
